The Commission requests the City Council to approve its FY20 Work Plan. <br />BACKGROUND <br />FY19 Annual Report Summary The Commission sent five proposals to City Council in FY19 and provided public comment in support of those proposals. The topic of each proposal is listed below. City Council approved work sessions for the proposals regarding single-use plastics and the polystyrene ban. Council took action that aligned with Commission requests on the following items: single-use plastics and polystyrene products, and has deliberated the Northwest Natural Gas franchise agreement. In addition, the City has seen major programmatic advances in the area of food waste with the rollout of curbside composting. <br />Proposals sent to City Council 1. Single-use plastics letter (October 2018) 2. Northwest Natural Gas franchise agreement recommendations (November 2018) 3. Recommended process for determining how to regulate natural gas (April 2019) 4. Food waste committee recommendations (May 2019) 5. Follow-up letter on single-use plastics urging action on polystyrene (June 2019) <br /> <br />FY19 Work Plan Summary The FY19 Work Plan includes six overarching topics areas: <br />1. Outreach <br />a. Outreach/Engagement Pilot. Develop a strategy to increase engagement with traditionally-underrepresented populations in Eugene. <br />b. Business Outreach. Search for opportunities to collaborate with Eugene’s business community to facilitate better understanding of sustainable business practices. <br />2. CAP2.0/Climate Mitigation Policy Input. Plan and carry out strategies to educate the community about the CAP 2.0. Review the content of the CAP 2.0 process, policies, actions and
