MINUTES <br /> <br /> Eugene City Council <br /> Interviews for Boards, Commissions, and Committees <br /> McNutt Room--Eugene City Hall <br /> <br /> October 16, 2001 <br /> 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Betty Taylor, David Kelly, Nancy Nathanson, Scott Meisner Gary <br /> Rayor, Bonny Bettman, Pat Farr. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS ABSENT: Gary PapS. <br /> <br />INTERVIEWS FOR BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES <br /> <br />Council President Taylor called the meeting to order. <br /> <br />The City Council interviewed the following individuals to fill vacancies on the Planning <br />Commission: Marlene Colbath, Jerry Drucks, John Lawless, Kim Leval, Kevin Matthews Greg <br />Ringer, and Aaron Walker. Each candidate was asked the following questions: <br /> <br /> 1. Why did you apply for the Planning Commission and what do you hope to contribute? <br /> <br /> 2. In your opinion, what issue should be given highest priority by the Planning <br /> Commission over the next four years? Why do you consider this the most important <br /> issue? <br /> <br /> 3. The Planning Commission must often balance competing interests when developing <br /> planning documents and making land use decisions. In your opinion, what are the <br /> most important factors for the Planning Commission to consider in its decision-making? <br /> <br /> 4. Please share your views on how the Planning Commission can foster community <br /> involvement as a whole, in long-range planning projects. <br /> <br /> 5. Do you have any questions for us? Is there anything you would like to add? <br /> <br />Following each interview, councilors shared impressions of the candidate. <br /> <br />The City Council interviewed the following individuals to fill vacancies on the Budget Committee: <br />Michael Barclay, Jennifer Solomon, and Robert Wallace. Each candidate was asked the following <br />questions: <br /> <br /> 1. Why did you apply for the Budget Committee and what do you hope to contribute? <br /> <br /> 2.
