Councilor Bettman said she would support the amendment but raised concern over the budget <br />committee processes of Springfield and Lane County. She suggested that due to prevailing <br />council sentiment the amendment would likely result in an overall decrease in drug treatment <br />dollars at a time when the economy was in a slump and such services were needed more than <br />ever. She urged those who testified during the public forum and public hearings to keep up the <br />pressure during the various budget committee processes. <br /> <br /> Councilor Pap~, seconded by Councilor Fart, moved to call the question.
