Community Profile <br />•Moderate Growth -The area has a moderate growth rate which is driven primarily by people moving to the area. <br />•Greater Share of Seniors -Eugene is also aging as people 65 and older now make up 26.4% of the population <br />•Greater Diversity -The area is becoming more diverse as 21% of the population is now Latinx or a person of color. <br />•Decreasing Household Size -More than half of all Eugene households are family households but the number of single person households has increased. <br />•Growing Median Income -The median household income for Eugene ($47,489) is growing but still lags behind the state and country. <br />•Lower Unemployment -The unemployment rate of Lane County is now 3.3% however this rate is higher for younger and people without higher education levels. <br />11
