 Be consistent with adopted land use and transportation plans developed by the City of Eugene, University of Oregon and Lane Transit District.
 Support increased residential density, changes in urban form and mixed-use development that we are currently and will continue to see rapidly being built on the corridor.
City staff have worked with a team of design, engineering and public involvement consultants to develop a preferred alternative for Franklin Boulevard that supports both the project’s purpose and the adopted Walnut Station Specific Area Plan. Initial design concepts were developed with the community over a four-day design workshop in late January 2019. These designs were refined into three corridor alternatives and then brought back to the community in May of 2019 for additional input. Now, the preferred alternative that was created based on public input and technical analysis will be presented to the community at an Open House on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 3:30-6:30pm at the Ford Alumni Center. A triple bottom line analysis was used in the development of the Walnut Station Specific Area Plan. Selecting a new preferred alternative for the corridor was informed by evaluation criteria that incorporate the triple bottom line.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL DIRECTION July 12, 2010, Meeting Move to adopt an ordinance concerning the Walnut Station Mixed-Use Center, included as Ordinance Version A with Exhibits A through I (Motion passed with amendments).
