Eugene Fire
Prevention staff have for several years played a key role in this popular event, which features fire safety
demonstrations, activities, and displays. Each October, a wide array of public safety entities gather to
provide information and activities to a growing audience of parents and children. The local Home Depot
won a competition among all Home Depot Stores for Best Kids' Event, and is being recognized by
Corporate Headquarters. The video will be shown worldwide to the estimated 500,000 Home Depot
employees as an example of successful community outreach. Engine 6 and staff from the Fire Marshals'
Office were present for interviews. Newly hired Deputy Fire Marshal Amy Linder and her Dalmatian
Cody were also present. Cody will play an important role in this year's Prevention Week event. Look for
Cody at the upcoming Family Fun & Safety Fest at Alton Baker Park on June 23.
