This input will serve as the core of recommendations to the City Council for how the City can best assist this population. 2006 Eugene provided one-time funds for homelessness prevention, transportation assistance and to increase hours at two access centers. Current Status: Funding was renewed in 2007. 2007 Council adopted goal of Helping the Homeless as one of 10 goals. Current Status: Staff preparing revised action plan for Council approval. th Project Homeless Connect took place on February 8 and provided assistance to 1007 homeless people. Current Status: An intergovernmental and community wide team has started planning for the 2008 event. Mayor Piercy appointed a 21 member “Blue Ribbon Committee” to develop recommendations for a stable, sustainable funding source to address homelessness.. Current Status: The committee will be meeting throughout 2007. Monitoring and Evaluation C.
