City of Eugene Legislative Policies for 2009 Oregon Legislative Session <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene supports state and federal salmon recovery efforts that are responsive to and <br />coordinated with locally adopted and developed recovery plans. <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene supports the restoration and full implementation of the Pesticide Tracking Bill <br />passed by the 1999 Legislature. The City encourages the State of Oregon to work closely <br />with local governments to identify and share pesticide data, and to better assist with salmon <br />recovery and water quality planning efforts at the local level. <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene supports salmon protection and recovery in a comprehensivemanner. <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene supports the development of endangered species recovery plans within the context <br />of a comprehensive watershed health plan, and specifically address salmon recovery needs <br />in urban areas. <br /> <br />B4. Notice for Spraying Pesticides/Insecticides <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene supports changes to ORS 634.057 to allow localities to use home rule authority to <br />require advance notice of spraying of pesticides or insecticides. <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene supports advance written notification to the City and recognized neighborhood <br />organizations of pesticide and insecticide spraying along railroad tracks to the extent <br />allowed by Federal law. <br /> <br />B.5. Land and Water Conservation <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene supports additional funding for the Land & Water Conservation Fund to support <br />local parks, trails, open space, programs and recreation facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />?Eugene opposes efforts to eliminate the Land & Water Conservation Fund state assistance <br />program. <br /> <br />30 <br /> <br /> <br />
