ORDINANCE N0. 19199 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING DOG LICEN5E FEES; AMENDING <br />SECTION 4,395 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1911; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Subsections (2), (5) and (6) of Section 4.395 of the Eugene <br />Code, 1971, are amended to provide: <br />4, 395 Li censes,,,,,,,,,,Fees and ~,.,E,xcepti ans . <br />~2} A dog 1 i cense fee shall be charged i n the amount established <br />by the city manager pursuant to section 2.020 of this code. The fee is due <br />and payable upon the issuance of the 1 i cense. A person who purchases a <br />kennel license does not have to license the individual dogs as long as they <br />1 i ve at the kennel . Al so, a person who purchases a 1 i cense far a commerci al <br />breeding kennel need not a1 so obtai n a commerci al kennel or noncommercial <br />kennel 1 i cense, and a person who purchases a commerci a1 kennel 1 i cense need <br />not obtai n a noncommerc i al kennel 1 i cense i f they choose to operate such a <br />kennel. <br />€5} If a dog i s classified as a potenti al 1y dangerous dog, the <br />owner shall obtain a separate 1 icense for the dog as well as a regular dog <br />1 ~ cense. The owner shall obta~ n the potentially dangerous dog 1 i cense wi thi n <br />ten days of the time the dog i s classified and annually thereafter. The ani - <br />ma1 regulation authority shat 1 issue ar renew a potenti al ly dangerous dog <br />1 icense provided: <br />~a} The owner presents to the director sufficient evidence <br />of compliance with the restrictions imposed by section 4, 445; and <br />fib} The owner pays a potential ly dangerous dog 1 icense fee <br />i n the amounts established by the city manager pursuant to section <br />2.020 of this code. <br />~5} If,a dog owner has been fined or his or her dog has been <br />cl assn f ~ ed or reg~ stered ~ n another state, county, or city because the dog <br />engaged ~ n the behave ors descry bed i n section 4.435, the owner shat 1 notify <br />the animal regulation authority of such classification, registration, or <br />fine at the time the owner licenses the dog. If the director classifies the <br />dog pursuant to section 4.440, the owner shall meet the requirements of sub- <br />sect ~ on s ~ 2 } and ~ 5 } above except ,that the initial potentially dangerous <br />dog 1 ~ cense fee w~ 11 be as establ ~ shed by the city manager pursuant to sec- <br />t~on 2.020 of this code for previously classified dogs. <br />Section 2. Notwithstanding the amendments contained i n Subsection 1 of <br />this Ordinance, all currently effective dog 1 icensi ng fees shall remain i n <br />Ordinance - 1 <br />
