<br />ORDINANCE N0. 19841 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE EUGENE PEDESTRIAN MALL; <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 4.812 AND 4.81fi OF THE EUGENE CODE, <br />1911; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Subsection ~ 1 } ~ r} of Section 4.812 of the Eugene Cade, 1911, <br />i s amended to provide <br />4.812 Pede_stri an Mal l - Prahi bi ted_Acts. <br />~ 1 }Except when approved ~~~~~as part of an authorized activity, the <br />following acts are prohibited vn the mall: <br />fir} Except vn O1 ive Street where vehicles are allowed, and <br />except for publicly owned vehicles or public ut i 1 i ty veh i c1 es when <br />responding to an emergency, operating or parking a motor vehicle. <br />Section 2 . Subsection ~ f } of Section 4.816 of the Eugene Code, 1911, <br />is amended to provide: <br />4.816 Pedestrian Mall -Activities Re uirin Permits. Except for parti- <br />ci pants i n a ci ty sponsored event, no person or business shal 1 con- <br />duct ,any of the following activities without first receiving a mal 1 activity <br />permit: <br />~f} Except on Olive Street where vehicles are allowed, op- <br />erat ~ ng or parks ng a motor vehicle on the mal 1. <br />Section 3. This Ordinance shall become effective only upon approval by <br />a ma jori ty of the electors of the City at the election to be held on May 19, <br />1992 of the Measure submitted by the City Counci 1 on whether to reopen Olive <br />Street. If that Measure fails, this Ordinance shall automatically be re- <br />pealed. <br />Section 4. Natwi thstandi ng the pravi si ons of Sections 1, 2 and 3 of thi s <br />ordinance, no vehicular traffic shall be permitted on O1 i ve Street prior to <br />Ordinance - 1 <br />
