ORDINANCE NO . ~ g-~,,~ <br />AN ORDINANCE LEVYING ASSESSMENTS FOR <br />PAVING, SIDEWALKS, CURB AND GUTTERS, STREET LIGHTS AND <br />STORM SEWERS ON GOODPASTURE ISLAND ROAD ~O~Q-FEET NORTH <br />OF VALLEY RIVER DRIVE TD 4Z5-FEET NORTH OF RINGSLEY <br />STREET; AMENDING THE ASSESSMENT ROLL ATTACHED TO ORDI~ <br />NANCE N4. 199Z~; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. CONTRACT <br />92..6} _. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />On June 1~, 1993 Ordinance No. 19920, "AN ORDINANCE LEVYING <br />ASSESSMENTS FOR PAVING, SIDEWALKS, CURB AND GUTTERS, STREET LIGHTS <br />AND STORM SEWERS ON GOODPASTURE ISLAND ROAD 200D-FEET NORTH OF <br />VALLEY RIVER DRIVE T0~425-FEET NORTH OF KINGSLEY STREET; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. CONTRACT 92-26}, " was enacted. <br />It has been determined that an error was made in the <br />calculation of 22 of the assessments. Based upon their percentage <br />of unit ownership, 11 parcels were under-assessed and ll were over- <br />assessed. The total dollar amount erroneously allocated is <br />$539.40. The expense of giving new assessment notices, conducting <br />another hearing on the increase, re-imposing corrected assessments <br />and processing new applications for installment payments does not <br />make it cost effective to correct the assessments for those parcels <br />that were under assessed. Therefore, the city shall bear the cost <br />of the under-assessments. <br />Under Section 7.230, Eugene Cade, 191 SEC}, the assessments <br />far the ll parcels that were over-assessed should be corrected and <br />notice of the correction given to the affected property owners. <br />the owners of the affected parcels far which the assessment nas <br />already been paid shall receive a refund and an adjustment shall he <br />made to the assessment account for the parcels where the owners <br />
