With the High
School & Middle School nearby, there has been a high fatality rate with
the mixture of Beltline Highway traffic, and student/pedestrian
crossing.
-Request that the zoning remain R-2 or better, in order to maintain the _
integrity of the existing residential area.
-Medium density residential zoning would address the concerns
regarding Police & Fire service availability, Effects on the School district
enrollment & necessary tax finance base, minimize increased traffic
impacts, provide an equal & stable tax base for the area.
-Since no specific commercial use is proposed at this time, we
cannot prOvide an accurate response to "rezoning to accommodate an
expanded variety of commercial uses". The general response from the
meeting was that retail usage may be acceptable, but Industrial would
not. Part of the concern expressed was that by allowing a multiple range
of zoning options, the area could be used for Industrial purposes,
inappropriate for the existing residential zoning.
Please keep us updated on this proposal-
Thank You-
ABC Chairperson,
Fran Gillespie
689-5462

.RECEIVED

NOV 2:~ 1992

DEPT.
