~ ~
r
h•
~ a- ,
J
At the least, the City Council ought to question.the validity of using the Neighborhood
Associations as conduits of neighborhood opinion. Listen, yes; but do be careful of
relying on well~muscled majority votes before making substantive changes.
l live on a fined income. l feel very strongly that nurturing a strong sense of community
is important to the quality of life in Eugene, That is why l've voted for taxes to protect
and enhance services; it is why 1 am supporting the "Library, Yes" committee. But l
deeply resent what 1 consider to be an unfair assessment and a mis-use of the power
of the Neighborhood Association.
sincerely,
:,, ,
.~
:~. ,
~~ ~ ~
~~
P.~. Actually, sidewalks have existed across from my house for same years, in front of
the property directly across and to its immediate north and south. when 1 realized
sidewalks were going in despite the objections of people on Emerald, l offered to pay
half of the cost for the sidewalk across from me. ll~y neighbor refused the offer. But it
makes me doubly cranky to have to pay the City fiat what's been there far years.
copies to Barbara Keller, Guth Bascom, and Amazon Neighbors.
.,
:~,~~~ ~I
' ~
_ ~ -~
~s~
J
. ~ ~~
:r
' ~~~~ J.
~~s~
f
c;' -~ ~;~
~~~
f'
f~.
