Comprehensive plans shat 1 cantai n poi i ci es concerning the <br />economic development oppartuni ti es i n the community and provide for at 1 east an <br />adequate supply of sites of sui tabs a sizes, types, 1 ocati ons and service 1 evel s <br />for a vari ety of i ndustri a1 and commercial uses consistent with plan policies. <br />The Goal also requires that plans should strongly emphasize the expansion of and <br />increased productivity from existing industries and firms as a means to <br />strengthen local and regional ecvnomi c devei opment . <br />The proposed amendment uses the inventory and i nformat i an provided i n the Eugene <br />Commercial Lands Study and implements the policy calling for additional <br />cammerc i a1 1 and i n the west Eugene Subarea to amend the Bethel -Danebo Refinement <br />Pi an to expand the existing 5-acre commercial site to 15 acres. The proposed <br />amendment i s, i n no way inconsistent with the Goal 9 provi si ons . <br />CONCLUSIONS FOR THE REFINEMENT PLAN AMENDMENT <br />The above analysis shows that the decision to amend the text and map for the <br />Barger-Bel t11 ne development node ~ n the adapted Bethel -Danebo Refinement Pi an to <br />allow an increase from 5 acres to 15 acres for commercial use i s consistent with <br />the criteria far a refinement plan amendment.
