ORDINANCE ND. Zo444 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE CHANGE OF NAME <br />GF GGGDPASTURE LAKES L44P RGAD, LGCATED <br />NORTH GF AND INTERSECTING W ITH GUGDPASTURE <br />ISLAND RGAD. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />A. Goodpasture Lakes Loop Raad is located north of, and intersects with Goodpasture <br />Island Road within the City of Eugene. <br />B. The City of Eugene has requested that the name of "Goodpasture Lakes Loop <br />Road" be changed to "Goodpasture Lakes Loop." All abutting property owners have concurred <br />that the name should be changed. <br />C, Changing the name of "Goodpasture Lakes Loop Road" to "Goodpasture Lakes <br />Loop" will provide a shorter name that will fit on mailing labels utilized by the City and others <br />to provide notice of hearings. The postoffice, 911, and LCOG have all indicated a preference for <br />a shorter name, with the postoffice indicating the name "Goodpasture Loop" would be its first <br />choice, and "Goodpasture Lakes Loop" its second choice. <br />D. The City's Plannuag Commission held a public hearing on the request that the name <br />of Goodpasture Lakes Loop Road be changed to Goodpasture Lakes Loop, on Apri111,1996, and <br />no opposition to the proposed name change has been received. The request has been initiated by <br />the City, and the Council has been advised that the proposed change of name is supported by the <br />postoffice, 911, and LCGG. <br />E. Notice of a public hearing to be held on the 13th day of May, 1996 at the Council <br />Chambers, City Hall, Eugene, Gregon, at 7 ; 34 0' clock p . m. was duly published in the Register <br />Guard, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, at least once during the week <br />immediately preceeding the hearing, to-wit, on May 5,1996. At the public hearing the Council <br />considered information from apartment residents in the area who felt "Goodpasture Lakes Loop" <br />was sti11 too long and requested the name be changed to "Goodpasture Loop.
