RECEIVED

September 21, 2005

Members of the Eugene City Council:

SEP 2 1 2005

Dear Members,

CITY OF EUGENE
PLANN!NG DEPf,RH,/1ENT

Concerning the Eugene GoalS Natural Resources Project

First of all we would like to thank both Ann Siegenthaler and Neil Bjorklund, with the
City Planning Department, for all their hard work on this project. Especially the help and
guidance they have given us with this process. Thank You.

We are in agreement with the proposed recommendations from the City Planners on June
7,2005. We understand that a small portion of our undeveloped 10t(1803162303100) will
be affected by the setback from the Category C Stream in the neighboring
10t(1803162303000) and that when our property is developed the gravel road into it will
have to be brought up to the standards set fourth by the GoalS Regulations.

The fact that the roadside drainage ditch was incorrectly included as part of the original
site E370, we would like to make sure that our current homes lot (1803162302000) is
removed from the inventory. It is well out of the 40 foot setback ofthe streams which run
through Barber Park lot (1803162302900).

I, Douglas Heer, am currently the president ofthe Shasta Ridge Association and have
spoken with our members about the effects that Goal 5 will have on Barber Park, which
is owned by all the members of our association. They are glad to help preserve a natural
resource and wetlands area through the Goal 5 Inventory program. It has always been the
intent for that parcel of land.

Thank You,

'[)~?It. ad S~ ~. ';?t~

Douglas M. and Sharon K.
