-----Original Message-----
From: Eleanor Ryan [mailto:woodnymph3000@yahoo.com]
Sent: Thursday, September 22,2005 11:15 AM
To: *Eugene Mayor and City Council
Subject: Approval of Goal 5 Natural Resouces Project

Dear Mayor Piercy and City Council Members,

On September 26, I understand, you will be considering the GoalS Natural Resources
Project. This plan many years in development, has been recommended by the planning
commission. Wildlife corridors set aside to protect both animals and plants are
important in maintaining the quality of life in our community. We want the opportunity
to know and study our natural world to be available to our children and all citizens. The
continued green spaces left natural provides these opportunities, as well as the
maintenance of a healthy environment. All those plants keep our air fresh, cool and clean.

As the Vice President of the NABA butterfly organization, I know that the continued
presence in town of butterflies means our natural environment is still intact. It is in these
still remaining corridors that the butterflies reproduce. It is there that can be enjoyed.
Our community is known, and valued, for these opportunities.

Thus I urge the City Council to approve and implement the GoalS Natural Resource
Project. In a rapidly- developing city there is urgency in implementing this plan. Future
Eugenians will thank you for your fore sightful vison.

Sincerely,

Eleanor Ryan
1728 KarylA ve.
Eugene, OR 97405
woodnymph3000@yahoo.com
