Move to reappoint John Lawless to Position 5 on the Planning Commission for a four-year term <br />beginning November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2009. <br /> <br />Move to appoint __________ to Position 4 on the Planning Commission for a four-year term <br />beginning November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2009. <br /> <br />Human Rights Commission <br />There are five vacancies on the Human Rights Commission. Twelve applications were received, <br />including one current member who wished to be reappointed. From this pool, the council chose <br />to reappoint one member in the initial round and to interview seven other applicants on October 6, <br />2005. One applicant withdrew from consideration prior to the interviews. The ballots received as <br />of noon on October 19 indicate five or more votes for only four candidates; there is no apparent <br />majority for the fifth vacancy. <br /> <br />Move to reappoint Misa Joo to Position 11 on the Human Rights Commission for a three-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Rebecca Flynn to Position 5 on the Human Rights Commission for a three-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Move to appoint James Garcia to Position 7 on the Human Rights Commission for a three-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Annette Leonard to Position 8 on the Human Rights Commission for a three- <br />year term beginning November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Move to appoint __________ to Position 9 on the Human Rights Commission for a three-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Toxics Board <br />There are two vacancies on the Toxics Board. One is for a “right-to-know advocate” position <br />and one is a “business required to report” position. There was one applicant for the “right-to- <br />know advocate,” and one applicant for the “business required to report” position. The City <br />Council interviewed each applicant on October 4, 2005. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Rue Ann Thomas to Position 3, an industry representative, on the Toxics Board <br />for a three-year term beginning on November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Move to appoint John Jordon-Cascade to Position 6, an advocacy representative, on the Toxics <br />Board for a three-year term beginning on November 1, 2005, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Historic Review Board <br />There were two vacancies on the Historic Review Board. Three applications were received for <br />these vacancies. The president of the Planning Commission and the Mayor nominate candidates <br />for this body and the council appoints.
