I am
in support of this proposal. Many people were given ample opportunity to show their support
for this concept and did so with much enthusiasm. Neighbors of any neighborhood, especially
those close to a city core, reconize that inappropriate infill will seriously degrade the character
of a neighborhood. We have a liveable, lively, walkable neighborhood with a nice of mix of
homes and residents. The negative impacts of inappropriate infill will destabilize the
neighborhood, making it harder to encourage people to live in this urban core neighborhood.

The well thought-out standards are very flexible and allow over 50% increase in the
neighborhood density. And the Planning Department staff and the Planning Commission
recommended approval of the standards.

I urge you to secure the livibiliy of this currently desirable neighborhood by voting yes on these
amendments.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Barwood
1031 W. 10th Avenue
Eugene, Oregon 97402

11/712005
