GMS Policy #10. Encourage the creation of transportation-efficient land use patterns and
implementation of nodal development concepts.

The proposed amendment supports this policy. The Chambers Special Area zone boundaries are
identified by the Metro Plan for potential creation of a mixed use (nodal) area plan that could implement
the concepts of nodal development. The Chambers Special Area zone will allow for a general increase
in density above existing levels and encourage compact residential infill, which will support general
mixed use (nodal) development concepts.

COUNCIL OPTIONS

This is a public hearing.
