~w,eR.~, <br />FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />SUBJECT: CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAY APPROACHES FOR FIVE <br />(5) VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE CITY. <br />(CONTRACT #95-26) (JOB #3375) <br />BACKGROUND <br />This project was initiated by Council Motion on September 26,1994. The improvements involve <br />twenty parcels, the owners of which wi11 bear ~ 00 percent of the assessable cost. <br />Based on the Council Motion, city staff proceeded with bidding of the project, as provided for in the <br />Eugene Code 7.1605}and 7.1 d0~7}, on September 25,1994 and the City Council formed the Local <br />Improvement District SLID} on September 25,1995. The project has been completed, and final <br />assessment costs have been calculated. <br />PRO ECT <br />The project involved the construction of sidewalks five to seven feet wide and four to seven inches <br />thick. Where appropriate, the sidewalk construction also involved the construction of driveway <br />aprons. The project involved 20 properties at five locations across the City. <br />1. The three properties on the south side of 20th Avenue between Willamette and <br />oak <br />2. Nine properties on W.1 Ith Avenue from Chambers to Garfield <br />3. Four properties on Bailey Hill Road between 11th Avenue and 1$th Avenue <br />4. Gne property on Royal Avenue between Highway 99 and Louis <br />5. Three properties on Garfield Street between 12th Avenue and 14th Avenue <br />ASSESSMENT <br />Under City of Eugene assessment policy, S 1.2 percent of the improvement costs will be distributed to <br />the abutting property owner. The final unit assessable costs. <br />4 inch thick concrete sidewalk $ 6.201Sq. Ft. <br />5 inch thick concrete sidewalk $ 6.9SISq. Ft. <br />7 inch thick concrete sidewalk $ 7.151Sq.
