The telecommunications ordinance provides opportunities for the location of <br />telecommunication facilities throughout the City of Eugene. By providing forthe buildout <br />of a telecommunications system throughout the community, this ordinance promotes <br />energy conservation through the potential for reduced automobile trips resulting from <br />increasing opportunities for "doing business,"whetherthatbusiness iswork-related, home- <br />related orschool-related, from the home. <br />Goal ~4 -Urbanization <br />To provide for an orderly and efficient transition from rural to urban land use. <br />The telecommunicationsordinance providesforan orderly and efficienttransition from rural <br />to urban land use by prohibiting telecommunication facilities on agriculturally zoned land. <br />This ensures that land is reserved for its designated use consistent with the Metro Plan and <br />any applicable refinement plan, <br />Goal ~5 - Willamette_River Greenway <br />To protect, conserve, enhance, and maintain the natural, scenic, historical, <br />agricultural, economic, and recreational qualities of land along the Uvillamette River <br />Greenway. <br />The telecommunications ordinance prohibits new telecommunications towers within the <br />vllillamette River Greenway to protect, conserve, enhance, and maintain the natural, <br />scenic, historical, agricultural, economic, and recreational qualities of this [and. <br />Goals 16 through ~ 9: These goals address coastal lands and features or ocean resources <br />and are not applicable to this code amendment. <br />Exhibit A ~o Urdinance 20078 - 5 <br />
