No action is required by the City Council. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />Council Action History <br />At its 1997 fall process session, the council agreed to include a monthly agenda item entitled "Ceremonial <br />Matters." From time to time, the Mayor is asked to sign proclamations or acknowledge awards received, <br />which serve to encourage and educate the community about important issues and events. <br /> <br />Other Background Information <br />Two items are scheduled under Ceremonial Matters: <br />1. "Police Week" Proclamation <br />2.
