<br />Section 29. Subsections (3)(e) and (3)(f)1 of Section 9.6420 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br /> <br />are amended to provide: <br /> <br />9.6420 <br /> <br />Parkina Area Standards. <br /> <br />(3) Landscape Standards. <br /> <br />(e) Interior Parkina Area Landscaping. In addition to the landscaping <br />required in subsections (c) and (d), landscaping that meets the 70% <br />landscape coverage requirement consistent with L-2 standards (See <br />Figure 9.6420(3)(e)3. Parking Area Interior Planting Islands) shall be <br />provided within the interior of surface parking areas for 50 or more motor <br />vehicles so as to improve the visual qualities of these areas, delineate <br />and define circulation movements of motorists and pedestrians, improve <br />air quality, and encourage energy conservation by moderating parking <br />area microclimates. <br />1. Parking area landscaping shall be provided according to Table <br />9.6420(3)(e) Interior Parking Area Landscaping. <br /> <br />Table 9.6420(3)(e) Interior Parking Area Landscaping <br />Total Number of Spaces in Minimum Interior Parking Area <br />Parking Area Landscape Area <br />50 to 99 spaces 15 square feet per parking space <br />100 or more spaces 22 square feet per parking space <br /> <br />2. A continuous landscape strip or raised pedestrian path shall be <br />provided between every 4 rows of parking. The landscape strip or <br />pedestrian path shall be a minimum of 7 feet in width, measured <br />from the outside edge of a 6 inch wide curb. (See Figure <br />9.6420(3)(e)2. Interior Parking Area Landscaping.) <br />3. Planting islands shall be provided at the ends of each parking row <br />and at intervals within parking rows so that no parking stall is more <br />than 45 feet from a planting island. Planting islands shall be at least <br />7 feet in width, as measured from the outside edge of a 6 inch wide <br />curb, and a minimum area of 140 square feet. Each of these <br />islands shall provide at least 1 canopy tree. (See Figure <br />9.6420(3)(e)3. Parking Area Interior Planting Islands.) <br />(f) Structured Parkina. <br />1. Along the perimeter of the non-commercial portion of structured <br />parking, a landscape strip, a minimum of 5 feet in width, shall be <br />provided between the property line and the structure wall. <br />Perimeter landscaping along interior yards is exempt from this <br />requirement, if the proposed structure will be less than 15' from an <br />existing structure measured across the common interior property <br />line. This standard does not apply to property lines abutting an <br />alley. <br /> <br />Ordinance - 18 <br />
