<br />OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; ADDING SECTIONS 9.8335 AND 9.8580 TO
<br />THAT CODE; AND PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATES.

<br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. The definitions of "Canopy Tree," "Development Site" "Dwelling, Duplex,"
<br />
<br />"Legal Lot," "Lot Width," Section C of "Partition," and "Vision Clearance Area" in Section 9.0500
<br />
<br />of the Eugene Code, 1971, are amended, and new definitions of "Curved Lot" and "Substantial
<br />
<br />Improvement" are added thereto, to provide:

<br />9.0500 Definitions. As used in this land use code, unless the context requires otherwise,
<br />the following words and phrases mean:
<br />
<br />Curved Lot. A lot having frontage on a street with a centerline radius of less than
<br />300' and a change in bearing of the centerline of at least 10 degrees across the
<br />frontage of the lot. For the purpose of determining lot frontage requirements, only
<br />those lots on the outside of a curved street shall be eligible for reduced lot frontage.
<br />
<br />Canopy Tree. A horizontally branching deciduous or coniferous tree species that
<br />generally grows to have a mature canopy width of at least 50 feet.
<br />
<br />Development Site. A tract of land under common ownership or control, either
<br />undivided or consisting of two or more contiguous lots of record. For the purpose of
<br />land use applications, development site shall also include property under common
<br />ownership or control that is bisected by a street or alley.
<br />
<br />Dwelling, Duplex. A building designed and used as dwellings for 2 families living
<br />independently of each other and having separate housekeeping facilities for each
<br />family that are connected either by common walls or common ceiling/floor
<br />connection. A building is not a duplex if one of the dwellings is a secondary
<br />dwelling.
