ATTACHMENT A River Avenue Proposed Improvement List as amended and approved at the third River Avenue Stakeholder Group meeting October 5, 2005: A THREE (3) Lane road for continuous length of River Avenue with center lane being A turn lane only fully improved with curb, gutters and storm drainage. USE OF CURBS AND GUTTERS WILL BE CONSISTENT WITH, AND SUPPORTIVE OF, BIOS WALE DESIGN WHERE POSSIBLE. Setback sidewalks both sides (5 FT-WIDE') on west end of River Avenue up to east end of Post Office. Curbside sidewalk (5 FT-WIDE) on north side only from east end of Post Office to the east end of River A venue with no sidewalk on south side of River Avenue EAST OF THE POST OFFICE. Flat sidewalks to facilitate use of bioswales where possible. Bike LANES on both sides up to east end of Post Office and connected to bike path at west end of Wastewater Treatment Plant and then CONNECTING TO A 12 FT. WIDE, MUL TI -USE, OFF-STREET PA TH on south side only for continuous length of River Avenue. STRIPED crosswalks (to control speed) at east end of Post Office, Ross Lane and at the east end bike path across from the Orowheat store and possibly at the VA building. No landscaped islands or planters on any portion of the THREE (3) lane road. Street trees to be planted at the west end only in the setback sidewalk area up to the east end of the Post Office. EAST OF THE POST OFFICE TREES WILL BE PLANTED ON THE SOUTH SIDE IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY POLICY. ON THE NORTH SIDE, EAST OF THE POST OFFICE, TREES WILL BE PLANTED AT PROPERTY OWNERS' DISCRETION. IN ADDITION, THE RIVER AVENUE STAKEHOLDER GROUP ALSO RECOMMENDS THAT THE FOLLOWING WORK BE ADVANCED AND IMPLEMENTED WITH THE RIVER A VENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: * OPERA TIONAL IMPROVEMENTS TO RIVER ROAD/RIVER A VENUE INTERSECTION AS SUGGESTED BY CITY ENGINEERING STAFF; * A SEPARATED BIKE/PED PA TH ON SOUTH SIDE OF RIVER A VE, CONNECTING TO SANTA CLARA NEIGHBORHOOD BENEATH BELTLINE ON THE EAST END OF PROJECT
