public interest to do so. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY of EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 19654 is amended to <br />provide that the moratorium imposed therein on the issuance of <br />certain sign permits which is due to expire vn March Z2, 1990 is <br />hereby extended to July 31, 1990, unless prior thereto a revised <br />Siqn Code is adopted and effective, in which case such adoption <br />shall serve as an earlier termination of the moratorium. <br />Section 2. Except for extension of the time as set forth in <br />Section 1 hereof, all provisions of Ordinance No. 19654 remain in <br />full force and effect. <br />Section 3. The matters contained herein concern the public <br />~-'~ ~o~ <br />~^~ce -'~ ~ ~l~ <br />~ r~ <br />~a/0~'r~ <br />~ ~C - ~i <br />welfare and safety, and it is important to continue to limit the <br />number of issued permits for signs while the proposed new Sign Code <br />is being reviewed.
