~'kN~R~T R <br />FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIGNS <br />SUBJECT: TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF DELTA HIGHWAY AT <br />GREENACRES ROAD (CONTRACT #88-09) <br />BACI~GRDUND <br />This project was petitioned for by a majority of the property owners abutting the project <br />named above. The ro ernes etitionin far the improvements will bear 49.8 percent of <br />p p p g <br />the improvement casts. Lane County has agreed to pay for $So,Oaa of the project cost <br />and City of Eugene will be assessed for remaining costs. Based on the petitions, the City <br />Engineer initiated the project, as prodded for in the Eugene Code 7.1Go~8}, on February <br />1 b, 1988. <br />Property owners were notified of the pending assessment hearing 1a days prior ~ to the <br />hearing. The project was advertised on May 24,1985 and bids were opened June 7,1988. <br />the law bid was submitted by Hamilton Electric, Inc., for an amount of $G2,Z88.~~. After <br />review staff recommended acceptance of the low bid. <br />In addition to the work done by the contractor, the City provided signal poles and <br />hardware costing $Z~,197 as a portion of its share of the project costs. <br />ASSESSMENT <br />Under City of Eugene assessment policy, mast of the cost is assessed to the abutting <br />property owners.
