Section of street assigned or <br />otherwise i denti f i ed~~ ~by city ~~for the sole purpose of loading and <br />unloading passengers for public passenger vehicles, as defined in <br />section 3.0o5 of this code, other than limousines. <br />Section 4. Section 5.040 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is amended by add- <br />ing anew subparagraph ~o} thereto, to provide: <br />5.040 <br />~o} Designate public passenger vehicle zones. <br />Section 5. Any company possessing a valid Springfield taxicab license <br />as of the effective date of this Ordinance may continue to operate within <br />the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan area through the expiration of that <br />license without first obtaining a public passenger vehicle company license. <br />However, nothing in this section shall exempt any company, vehicle or driver <br />from compliance with all other requirements of this Ordinance ar the Eugene <br />Code, 1911, and regulations adopted thereunder. The City Manager is author- <br />ized to adopt rules to carry out the provisions of this section. <br />Section 6. Any public passenger vehicle driver possessing a valid Eugene <br />or Springfield public passenger vehicle certification may continue to drive <br />motorized vehicles, as defined by this Ordinance, within the Eugene-Spring- <br />field Metropolitan area, through the expiration of that certification, without <br />first paying for anew certification pursuant to the provisions adopted here- <br />in. However, nothing in this section shall exempt any person from compliance <br />with all other requirements of this Ordinance or the Eugene Code, 1971, and <br />regulations adopted thereunder, including requirements related to criminal <br />history checks and photo identification and certification cards . The City <br />Manager is authorized to adopt rules to carry out the provisions of this <br />Ordinance - 5 <br />
