ORDINANCE NO. ~j7~, J <br />AN ORDINANCE ING TgE EUGENE-sPRIlVG~IELD <br />METROPOLITAN AREA GENERAL PLAN DIAGRAM <br />CHAMBERS COMaVIUNICATION, INC, AMA 90-4}, <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds as follows: <br />A. Chambers Communication, Inc. has applied for an amendment to the <br />Metropolitan Area General Plan diagram to change the designation of Tax Lots 87~~ and <br />88~a (Assessor's Map 17-D3-16-3 3~ from Low-Density Residential to Community <br />Commercial. <br />B. The proposed amendment is a minor plan amendment. Neither Lane <br />County nor the City of Springfield are substantively affected by the requested plan than e. <br />g <br />Thus, only action by the City of Eugene is needed to allow or deny the requested <br />amendment. <br />C. The Eugene Planning Commission recommended approval of the proposed <br />plan amendment and adopted supporting findings on March 11, 1991. The Planning <br />Commission noted, and the City Council concurs, that the appropriate zoning district for <br />implementing the proposed diagram change is the Ga Creneral Gffice zoning district. <br />That zoning district would allow the planned use of the property far a parking facili <br />tY <br />while limiting the range of uses that might occur adjacent to the existing residential <br />neighborhood. <br />D. The proposed amendment meets the approval criteria set out at Eugene <br />Cade, 1971, § 9.1282}. The March 11,1991 findings of the Eugene Planning Commission <br />Grdinance ~ 1 <br />
