ORDINANCE NO. /~6z"~ <br />AN ORDINANCE CQNCERNING THE DOWNTOWN <br />DEVELpPMENT DISTRICT; AMENDING ORDINANCE No. <br />19621; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />1. On June 12, 1989, Ordinance No. 19621 was passed by the <br />Council and approved by the Mayor. The Ordinance contained an <br />emergency clause, and became effective immediately. <br />2. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 19621 amended the tax rate <br />set forth in Section 3.700 of the Eugene Code, 1971. It was the <br />intent of the Council at the time the Ordinance was considered <br />and adopted that the newly established tax rate would be <br />applicable for the quarter commencing July 1, 1989. <br />3. Ordinance No. 19621 should therefore be amended tv <br />provide that the amendment to Section 3.700 of the Eugene Code, <br />1971 set forth in Section 1 thereof shall become effective July <br />1, 1959. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY of EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Based upon the above findings, which are hereby <br />adopted, Ordinance No. 19621, passed by the Council and approved <br />by the Mayor on June 12, 1959, is amended to provide that the <br />effective date of the amendment to Sectian 3.704 of the Eugene <br />Code, 1971 set forth in Section 1 thereof shall be July 1, 1959. <br />Sectian 2. Except as herein amended, all other provisions <br />of Ordinance No. 19621 remain in effect. <br />Section 3.
