ORDINANCE NO. 19346 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE CHANGE OF NAME <br />OF ATLANTIC AVENUE To PACIFIC AVENUE AND <br />PACIFIC AVENUE TO ATLANTIC AVENUE; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />The owner of an industrial subdivision located on the west <br />side of Danebo Avenue between the Coos Bay Branch of the Southern <br />Pacific Railroad and west 11th Avenue has requested that the <br />names of two streets located entirely within the subdivision, <br />Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Avenue, be reversed. <br />The request has been reviewed by City staff, and the Council <br />has been advised that the proposal will nat create any new street <br />names, the names do not conflict with the names of any other <br />streets within the City, and since the property is vacant the <br />proposed change will not necessitate any modifications of existing <br />addresses. <br />No apposition to the reversal of the names of the streets <br />has been received, and na concurrence of abutting property owners <br />is necessary since all of the property fronting the two streets <br />is in the ownership of the applicant, <br />The applicant has asserted a belief that the reversal of <br />the names will facilitate the marketing and development of the <br />property in that the change of the name of the entry street <br />from Atlantic to Pacific will strengthen the association of <br />the development with the. northwest. <br />Native of a public hearing to be held on the 28th day of <br />January, 1985 at the Council Chambers, City Hall, Eugene, Oregon, <br />at 7:30 o"clock p,m, was' duly published in the Eugene Register <br />Guard, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, at <br />least once during the week immediately preceeding the hearing, <br />to-wit, on January 21, 1985. <br />NO~~ THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The names and designations of Atlantic Avenue <br />and Pacific Avenue are hereby reversed, and Atlantic Avenue <br />is changed to Pacific Avenue, with Pacific Avenue being changed <br />to Atlantic Avenue, both of said streets being located west <br />on Danebo and south of the Southern Pacific Railroad, within <br />the City of Eugene , <br />1 -- Ordinance <br />
