oRDINANcE No, 19308 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE RECONSTRUCTION, <br />WIDENING, AND LANDSCAPING OF 5TH AND 7TH <br />AVENUES AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEIKENTS <br />THEREFOR. <br />THE CITY GF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The State of Oregon has funded and proposes <br />to reconstruct and widen nth and 7th Avenues between Garfield <br />and High Streets. These streets form a part of Oregon Highway <br />99. At least twenty-six trees that are defined as "historic <br />street trees" by the City Charter will be removed if the streets <br />are widened. New street trees will be planted and other landscaping <br />done as part of the construction project. <br />Section ~. Preliminary plans and specifications and statements <br />of the impact of this project have been made available to the <br />public at City Hall. A map and description of the project will <br />be published once a week for four consecutive weeks prior to <br />the election of i~Iarch 26, 1985 in the Eugene Register Guard, <br />a newspaper of general circulation within the City of Eugene. <br />Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to enter into <br />agreements with the State of Oregon and others at any time prior <br />to March ~6, 1998 to facilitate this construction project. <br />Any such agreement with the State shall require an allocation <br />of part of the project funds to the maintenance of the City' s <br />historic street trees. <br />Section 4.
