ORDINANCE NO. 19330 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING DEVELOPMENT IN THE FLODD~iAY; <br />AMENDING SECTION 9.601 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLD~S: <br />Section 1. Section 9.607 of the Eugene Code, 197I, is amended to read <br />and provide; <br />9.607 Floodway - Develo meat. Development, including but not limited to <br />buildings or other structures, is prohibited in the Willamette <br />River floodway as defined in section 9.x15. Development is prohibited in <br />al 1 other f 1 oodways i f the result could be a rise i n water surf ace. Further- <br />more, all flvodway development requires city engineer approved design and <br />construct~an safeguards aga7nst natural hazards. Mining, dredging, fill- <br />ing, grading, excavation, and drilling are prohibited in all floodways if <br />the result could be a rise in water surface. <br />Section 2.
