ORDINANCE N4. 19352 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE RIVERFRQNT RESEARCH PARR URBAN RENEWAL PLAN. The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: A. In recognition of the importance of the University of aregon to the area's economic future, and in realization of the economic potential for development near the University, the Council commissioned a Riverfront Park Study and appointed a study committee . B. A draft Riverfront Park Study containing a recammenda~- taon that an urban renewal distract be created within the Study area was completed in April, 1985 and submitted to the City Planning Department for review and comment. C. At a public hearing before the Planning Commission on May 20, 1985, attended by aver 75 persons, over 24 individuals presented oral testimony on the draft Study. At the conclusion of the meeting, the record was left open until May 30, 1985 for the submission of additional written materials, and 19 groups ar individuals responded with written testimony for the Commission's consideration. D. Seven study sessions were conducted by the Planning Commission, and an Tune 24, 1985 the Commission recommended that the draft Riverfront Park Study be approved, subject to certain modifications. E. 0n July 8, 1985 the City Council held a public hearing on the draft Riverfront Park Study and Planning Commission recommendations. This hearing was preceded by a tour of a 1 - ordinance
