ORDINANCE NO. 19365 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE DOWNTOWN COMMISSION; AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 2.155 AND 2.157 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF El1GENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1, Subsection ~5} of Sectian 2.155, and Section 2.157 of the <br />Eugene Code, 1971, are amended to read and provide: <br />2.155 Downtown Commission - Membershi Term; Vacancies, <br />~5} Any vacancy in the commission shall be filled by the council <br />far the unexpired term of the predecessor in office. A vacancy shall occur <br />upon the death or resignation of a member, upon the removal of a member pur- <br />suant to section 2.156, or upon lass of a pecuniary interest qualification <br />for any of the six voting members appointed under section 2.157. <br />2.157 Downtown Commission - Interests of Members. During the terms of <br />office through 1986, the commission shall consist of five voting <br />members with a pecuniary interest and four at large members. Thereafter, <br />at least six voting members of the commission shall be employed, employ <br />others, own property, manage a business, maintain a primary residence, ar <br />otherwise have a direct, pecuniary interest within the downtown boundary as <br />described in section 2.1541}. <br />Sectian 2. That the matters contained herein concern the public wel- <br />fare and therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordi- <br />Hance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the Council and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed by the City Counci l thi s <br />13th day of November, 1955 <br />~.
