Reader board <br />signs are permitted with a maximum surface area of 32 square feet, <br />either wall-mounted or pole-mounted, with a maximum height of <br />eight feet. <br />~ b} Pub1 i c signs. Signs of a publ i c, non-commercial nature, <br />which shat ~ nc u e safety signs, danger signs, no trespassing <br />signs, signs indicating scenic or historical points of interest, <br />and al 1 signs erected by a publ i c officer i n the performance of a <br />public duty. <br />~ c} Traffic directing signs. Non-i 11 um7nated directional <br />signs, indicating traffic movement onto a premise, or within a <br />premise, not exceeding three square feet of surface area for each <br />sign, and one such sign per entrance to the premises. Directional <br />signs on paved areas shall be exempt from the size standards indi- <br />cated above, a directional sign of not more than 12 square feet <br />of surface area, and not more than eight feet in height, used only <br />to identify and 1 ocate a servi ce entrance or service faci 1 i ty, <br />provided that such sign cannot project any further than the allow- <br />abl a pra~ecti on for an identity sign. <br />t d} Memorial signs and tablets. Seasonal decorations shal 1 be <br />permitted from November 15 to January 1 for display purposes on <br />public or private property, providing such decorations are safely <br />maintained. When on public property, approval of the council is <br />required. <br />~ g } Seasonal signs. Seasonal signs shall be permitted for <br />Christmas tree sales lots during the period from the day after <br />Thanksgiving to January 1 and for fireworks sales during the period <br />from June 24 to July 6, provided such sign shall not exceed 32 <br />square feet i n surface area and i s either wall-mounted or pol e- <br />mounted with a maximum height of eight feet. <br />~h} Bus signs. Non-illuminated advertising signs attached <br />to the extern ors of buses operated by a mass transit district <br />organized under aRS Chapter 261, so long as the surface area of <br />all such signs placed upon a vehicle does not exceed 11,034 square <br />inches, and the surface area of signs placed upon any one side of <br />a vehicle does not exceed 4,324 square inches. <br />4 i } Community event signs. Noncommerci a] , non-product, or <br />service-oriented banners, pennants, and similar signs announcing a <br />community event designated by the city manager or the manager ` s <br />designee. The community event shall be of community interest with <br />participation available to the general citizenry, and non-~commerci a7 <br />and non-pot i ti cal i n nature.
