proposed closure notifying the public of the construction work, and that the <br />street or part of a street i s closed to public traffic and c1 osed to parking . <br />In the event a motor vehi c1 a shat 1 be found standing or parked within the <br />street or part of a street 24 hours after the posting of the barriers and <br />signs, i n vi a1 ati on and contrary to the provisions of this section, the motor <br />vehicle shall be given a citation and may be impounded in accordance with <br />section 5.695 . <br />~3~ ~~hen a street is closed, no person shall remove, break down, <br />ride or drive over any barrier erected as provided in this code or travel <br />over the street wi th a vehi c1 e, ani mat or an foot on a part of the street <br />where work is being performed. <br />~4~ Whenever a stree t or streets are to be closed for the purposes <br />of moving bui 1 di ngs or other associated type moves, the contractor, or per- <br />son directly i n charge of the moving operation shat 1 post "No Parking" signs <br />and legend approved by the department 24 hours in advance of the proposed <br />c1 osure, notifying the public of the moving operation and that the street <br />or streets are closed to public traffic and public parking. When the si gn-- <br />ing is completed the department shall inspect the street or streets to be <br />closed and determine if the proper signs have been posted in compliance here- <br />wi th. In the event that a motor vehi c1 a shall be found standing or parked <br />within the street or streets 24 hours after the posting of the signs, i n <br />violation and contrary to the provisions of this section, the motor vehi c1 e <br />shall be given a citation and may be impounded in accordance with section <br />5.695. <br />7.100 Manual on Traffic Control Devices, Signing, etc, for Construction <br />an a~ntenance on Streets and Highways. The document entitled <br />"Manual on Tra f~c Control Devices, S~gn~ng, etc, for Construction and Main- <br />tenance on Streets and Highways", April, 1981 Edition, prepared and approved <br />by the department, copies of which are on file in the department, is hereby <br />adopted i n its entirety and by this reference thereto made a part of thi s <br />code, as though fully set out herein. <br />7.105 Compliance with Manual Required. No person performing work on any <br />pu ~ c way s a v~ a ate any o the requi rernents of section 7.100. <br />7.125 Local Improvements ~- Deadlines. <br />1 Peti t~ ons for local improvements shat 1 be filed on or before <br />January fifteenth of the year for which the improvement is requested to be <br />constructed. <br />~ 2 ~ Prior to petitioning fora 1 oval improvement, the area shall <br />be annexed to the city and also shall have filed for preliminary p1 at <br />approval with the planning commission .
