An eligible real property <br />owner who requests such a deferral, extension, or modification shall submit <br />evidence of el i gi bi 1 i ty on forms provided by the finance officer, After re- <br />view of the evidence submitted, the finance officer shall notify the appli- <br />cant whether the request has been granted. I f i t has, the applicant shat <br />enter into a contract to pay the assessment in accordance with the terms of <br />the deferral , extension, or modification. The contract shat 1 be on a form <br />approved by the city attorney, and may be recorded in the official records <br />of Lane County, Oregon. <br />7.205 Local Improvements -Interest on Assessment Payments Deferred, <br />Mod~f~ed, or Extended. <br />1 An assessment deferred under subsection 1,1953} shall accrue <br />simple interest of three percent X3°6} per annum from the date it is levied <br />until the deferral ends, The contract required by section 7.200 shall <br />specify whether the interest i s to be paid semi-annually or monthly during <br />the deferral, or in one lump sum at the end of the deferral, when the <br />deferral ends payment of the assessment shall be made as provided in section <br />7.224, <br />~ 2 } Extended or modified assessment payments authorized under sub- <br />section 7,1954} shall be due semiwannually fora term of years not to exceed <br />twice the number of years remaining on the assessment bonding agreement as <br />of the date that the application for extension of payments i s submitted. <br />The amount and date of semi-annual payments to be made shall be as specified <br />in the contract of extension ar modification. Each such payment shall in- <br />cl ude interest accrued to the time of the payment on the unpaid balance of <br />the assessment. During the first 10 years of the extension, interest shall <br />accrue at the rate then authorized by section 2.022 of this code.
