ORDINANCE NO . ~ q ~t Z <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SPECIALTY CODES; <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 19413 ADOPTED BY TSB <br />COUNCIL AND APPROVED BY THE 1KAYOR ON OCTOBER <br />13, 19$6; AND DECLARING AN E1~ERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 19413 passed by the <br />Council and approved by the Mayor on October 13, 1986 is amended <br />by adding thereto subsection 8.~15~4}, which provides: <br />~ 4 } Appendix , Chapter 70, Excavation and Gradin of <br />the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, as published <br />and copyrighted in 1985 by the International Conference of <br />Building Officials is hereby adopted, and incorporated herein <br />by this reference. <br />Section Z. Section 15 of Ordinance No. 19413 passed by the <br />Council and approved by the Mayor on October 13, 1986 is amended <br />to read: <br />Section 15. That the matters contained herein concern <br />the public health, welfare and safety and therefore, an <br />emergency is hereby declared to exist, and the provisions <br />he r e i n Wh 1 Ch are not subject to the 1 imitations imposed by <br />Sectian 38 of the Eugene Charter of 1976 shall become effec- <br />tive immediately upon its passage by the City Council and <br />approval by the Mayor. Those provisions hereof which are <br />subject to the limitations of Sectian 38 of the Eugene <br />Charter of 1976 shall became effective six months after the <br />date this Ordinance is adopted by the Council and approved by <br />the Mayor. <br />Section 3. That the matters contained herein concern the <br />public health, welfare and safety, and in order to insure the <br />orderly implementation of Ordinance No, 19413 an emergency is <br />hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effec- <br />tive immediately upon its passage by the Council and approval by <br />Ordinance 1 <br />
