ORDINANCE ND. 19423 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE DD~NTO~N COMMISSION; AMENDING <br />SECTION 2.15 DF THE EUGENE CODE, 1911; AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY DF EUGENE ODES ORDAIN AS FDLLD~IS: <br />Section 1. Section 2.157 of the Eugene Code, 1911, is amended to read <br />and provide: <br />2.151 ~ Downtown Commission - Interests of Members. During the terms of <br />office through 1986, the commission shall consist of f i ve voting <br />members with a pecuniary interest and four at large members. Thereafter, <br />at least six voting members of the commission shall be employed, employ <br />others, own property, manage a business, maintain a primary residence, or <br />otherwise have a direct, pecuniary interest within the downtown boundary as <br />described in section 2.1541}. A person why resides within a two block area <br />of the perimeter of the downtown boundary is determined to have a direct, <br />pecuniary interest constituting eligibility for appointment as a~ commission <br />member, <br />Section 2. That the matters contained herein concern the public welfare, <br />and in order to provide for the orderly implementation of the provisions <br />hereof during the Council's interviewing and appointment processes, an emer- <br />gency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance sha11 became effective <br />immediately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed by the City Council this <br />12th day of November, 1986 <br />G~"--~ d`' ~' <br />City Rec der <br />Ordinance ~- 1 <br />Approved by the Mayor this <br />
