ORDINANCE NO. I q y ~ C~ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE NUCLEAR FREE EUGENE <br />ACT; . <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds as follows <br />1. On Navember 4, 1986 the electors of the City of Eugene <br />passed an ordinance entitled the "Nuclear Free Eugene Act." <br />Z. Section 5~1} of that ordinance requires the City Council <br />to appoint a temporary Eugene Nuclear Free Zone Board within one <br />month of the enactment of the ordinance, <br />3. Additional time is needed to recruit potential members <br />of the Board and to study the effects and implementation of that <br />ordinance, <br />NoW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS; <br />Section 1. Section 5~1} of the Nuclear Free Eugene Act is <br />amended to read and provide as follows: <br />The people of Eugene shall biennially elect a 7 person <br />Eugene Nuclear Free Zone Board thereinafter referred to as <br />the Board} to oversee adherence to this Act. The elections <br />shall occur on the first Tuesday of November of every even- <br />numbered year.
