ORDINANCE N0. y /6s <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD METROPOLITAN <br />AREA GENERAL PLAN. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds as follows: <br />1. On April 7, 1987 the Eugene Planning Commission held a public meet- <br />~ng on the proposed Springfield Metropolitan Area General Plan Diagram amend- <br />ments and recommended adoption of the amendments to the City Council. <br />2. A public hearing on the proposed Springfield Metropolitan Area <br />General Plan Diagram amendments was held before the Eugene City Council on <br />April 27, 1987. <br />3. The Springfield City Council adapted the proposed Springfield Metro- <br />pal~tan Area General Plan Diagram amendments on March 2 and 16, 1987. The <br />C7ty of Springfield had previously adopted the Mid-Springfield Refinement <br />P1 an and the "q" Street Refinement Plan . <br />4. Findings in support of the adoption of these Plan Diagram amendments <br />are set forth ~n the Planning Department staff notes and the refinement lans <br />ado ted b the Cit of S r' p <br />p y y p ~ngf~eld. <br />5. Based an the above record and findings, the City Council concludes <br />that the Metropolitan Area General Plan Diagram amendments set forth below <br />are consistent with land use planning goals, with the unamended portion of <br />the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Area General P1 an, and with other a 1 i - <br />cab1 e Ci t 1 ans and of i ci e pp <br />y P p s. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The findings above are adopted, together with the findin s <br />set forth in Attachments 1 2 ~ 'g <br />,and 3 hereto, which are incorporated herein. <br />Section 2. The P1 an Diagram in the Metro Plan is amended to reflect the <br />changes set forth in the diagrams on Attachments 1, 2, and 3. S ecificall <br />the Mid-S rin field Pl p y' <br />p , g an amendments are the conversion of: 61.6 acres of low <br />density res~dent~al and mixed use land to low density residential and li ht <br />medium industrial in the Ada g <br />ms Plat south of Olympic Street; a 16.2 acre area <br />south of Commercial Avenue, from low density residential to li ht medium in- <br />dustrial • an 11.4 g <br />acre site on 42nd Street north of Main Street from light <br />medium industrial site to community commercial; a 19.5 acre heavy industrial <br />area adjacent to 42nd Street at Industrial Avenue from light medium industrial <br />to heavy industrial; a 21.9 acre medium density area around the theater from <br />low density residential to medium density residential; a medium densit resi- <br />dential mixed use came ~ ~ y <br />m re al 22.4 acre area on Main Street to community com- <br />mercial; and a 32.1 acre area south of Main Street at 28th Street, from li ht <br />medium industrial to heav g <br />y industrial; 12.3 acres of high density residential <br />Drdinance - 1 <br />
