ORDINANCE NO. 19482 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING RATES AND CHARGES FOR SANITARY <br />SEWER SERVICE AND STORM SEWER SERVICES; AMENDING SECTIONS <br />7.010 AND 7.020 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The definitions for "Industrial waste or trade waste," <br />"Sewer user," "Suspended solids," and "Transient rooms, motels, hotels and <br />student quarters" set forth in Section 7.020 of the Eugene Code, 1911, are <br />amended, and new definitions for "General customer," "Storm sewer user," and <br />"Water user" are added in alphabetical order therein, to read and ravide: <br />p <br />l.Olo <br />General customer. <br />For regional portion of sanitary sewer <br />user cnarge~: <br />~a} Low stren tc~h. Users with combined BOD and SS load- <br />ings equal to or less than 400 milligrams per liter ~mg/1}. <br />These low strength loadings are typical of domestic sanitary <br />waste loadings. <br />fib} Medium stren th. Users with combined BOD and SS <br />strengths greater than 400 mg/1 but not greater than 800 mg/l. <br />These medium strength loadings are typical of: grocery <br />stores, hotels and motels, commercial laundries and theaters. <br />~ c} Hi h stren th . Users wi th a combined BOD and 55 <br />wastewater strength of greater than 800 mg/1. These high <br />strength loadings are typical of: restaurants and bakeries. <br />Industrial strength. Any user with a combined BOD and SS <br />strength greater than 800 mg/1 and who is en a ed in manufacturin <br />gg g <br />and processing act~v~ties. Such users may be required to pay a <br />surcharge for waste loadings in excess of 200 mg/1 for both BOD and <br />SS. <br />Sanitar sewer user. A facility which discharges directly or <br />indirectly to the city sanitary sewerage system, or has a sanitar <br />y <br />sewer available as provided in section x.070 of this code. <br />Storm sewer user.
