ORDINANCE NO. 19498 <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF <br />BUILDING OFFICIALS' AND WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION'S <br />UNIFORM FIRE CODE, .1985 EDITION, WITH CERTAIN MODIFICA- <br />TIONS, ADDITIONS, AND DELETIONS; AMENDING SECTIONS 8.001, <br />8.010, 8.190, AND 8.200 OF THAT CODE; ADDING SECTION 8.205 <br />TO THAT CODE; AND REPEALING SECTIONS 8.020 AND 8.195 OF <br />THAT CODE. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The definition of 'Fire Code or Fire Prevention Code" con- <br />tamed in Section 8.001 of the Eugene Cade, 1911, is amended to provide: <br />8.001 <br />Fire Code or Fire Prevention Code. The regulations adopted <br />by sections 8.190 and 8.200. <br />Section 2. Section 8.010 of the Eugene Code, 1911, is amended to read <br />and provide: <br />8.010 Structural S ecia1t Code. <br />~1} As amended by this section and section 8.015, the Oregon State <br />Structural Specialty Code and Fire and Life Safety Regulations and its <br />Appendix Chapters has now adapted by the State of Oregon Department of Com- <br />merce pursuant to ORS 456.150 to 455.885} and Chapter 70 of the 1985 Edition <br />Of the Uniform Building Code as published and copyrighted by the International <br />Conference of Building Officials as now enacted are hereby adopted and viola- <br />tion thereof shall constitute an offense against the city. Copies of the <br />code shall be filed in triplicate in the office of the city recorder. <br />~2} The following parts of the Oregon State Structural Specialty <br />Code and Fire and Life Safety Regulations are not enacted: <br />~a} In section 103~a} reference to Appendix Chapter 2; <br />fib} Sections 104 to 108 of Chapter 1; <br />~c} Chapters 2 and 3; <br />~d} Appendix Chapters 2, 11, 23 and 35. <br />~3} When a term listed in Chapter 4 of the structural code is de- <br />fined differently in section 8.001 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the definition <br />in section 8,001 shall be used unless the context in which the term is used <br />clearly requires use of the Chapter 4 definition. <br />Section 3. Sections 8.o20 and 5.195 of the Eugene Code, 1911 are re- <br />pealed, Sections 8.190 and 8.200 are amended, and Section 5.205 is added, <br />Ordinance - 1 <br />
