ORDINANCE N0. ~~~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AMENDMENTS T4 THE EUGENE-SPRINGFIELD <br />METROPOLITAN AREA GENERAL PLAN. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />1. The Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Area General Plan Metro Plan <br />was adopted by the Eugene City Council on July 28, 198o, and amendments <br />thereto have been subsequently adoptd by Ordinance. <br />2. On August•18, 1981, the Planning Commissions of the Cities of <br />Eugene and 5pringf~eld and Lane County held a public hearing on a re nest b <br />the Metro alitan Wastew q y <br />p ater Management Commission ~MWMC} far a text change in <br />the Metro Plan to allow for the extension of water service to the stud a man- <br />s ement site, g <br />g <br />3. The Lane County Planning Commission, Springfield Planning Commis- <br />sion and Eugene Planning Commission, at their respective meetings on Se tem- <br />ber 1, 1987 Se tember 2 1987 p <br />p and September 14, 1987 voted to approve the <br />requested Metra Plan text change. <br />4. On October 14, 1987 the Eugene City Council and Springfield Cit <br />Counci 1 het d a 'oi nt ub1 i y <br />~ p c hearing on the requested Metro Plan text change. <br />5. Findings in support of adoption of this amendment to the Metro P1 an <br />text are set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and incor orated herein <br />p <br />by reference. <br />6. Based on the above record and findings, the City Council concludes <br />that the Metra Plan amendment set forth below is consistent with the land <br />Conservation and Development Commission statewide land use tannin oats <br />p 9g <br />with the unamended portion of the Eugene-Springfield Metro alitan Area Gen- <br />eral Plan and •p <br />with other applicable City plans and pol~c~es. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS; <br />Section 1. The findings set forth above, and the findings contained <br />in Exhibit "A" attached hereto are adopted, and incorporated by reference. <br />Section 2. Policy ~ on page III-G-4 of the Metro Pi an is amended to <br />read and provide as follows: <br />"~. Sewer and water service sha11 not be extended beyond the <br />urban growth boundary except ta: <br />a. The Mahlon Sweet Field Airport and the Regional Waste- <br />water Sludge Management Facility, both public facilities <br />serving the enure metropolitan area. <br />Ordinance - 1 <br />
