FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />PAVING, SANITARY AND STORM SEWERS TO SERVE CAMEO ESTATES <br />AND AREA BETWEEN GILHAM ROAD TO 300 FEET EAST OF SARAH LANE, <br />FROM 2,000 FEET NORTH TO 1,300 FEET NORTH CRESCENT <br />(JOB#2257} <br />Back rg ound <br />This project was initiated by a petition and consists of newly <br />platted subdivision of 24 lots. <br />Based on the 100 percent petition for paving and 4l percent for <br />sanitary sewers the City Council initiated the peoject as pro- <br />vided ~n Eugene Code 7.160(8), on July 16, 1987. Property owners <br />were notified of the pending award hearing 10 days prior to the <br />hearing. Minutes and findings by the Hearing Official will be <br />subma~tted by C~.ty Staff to the Clty Counc~.l on February 22, 1988, <br />for approval to levy the assessment, The low bid was submitted <br />by Wildish Corvallis Construction for an amount of $101,270.15. <br />Pr__ o ject <br />The project includes 1,584 Lin, Ft, of 8" PVC sanitary sewer <br />pipe, six manholes, service lines, and 951 Lin. Ft. of 28 foot <br />paving. <br />Under City of Eugene assessment policy, most of the cost is <br />assessed to the abutting property owners. The costs listed below <br />are the actual calculated assessment cost to property owners. <br />8" sanitary lateral $ 0.126 sq, ft. <br />6" service line $ 457,00 each <br />28' paving $ 32.85 front foot <br />Costs listed below are the Engineer's estimate and preliminary <br />costs quoted to property owners at the initial hearing following <br />b~.d open~.ng, <br />8" sanitary lateral $ 0.135 sq, ft. <br />6" service line $ 380.00 each <br />28' paving $ 36.33 front foot <br />Recommendation <br />Costs are comparable to project of similar size.
