ORDINANCE NO . 9 5 S <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE CHANGE OF NAME OF <br />SCHEID STREET T4 OSCAR STREET; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />The owner of all the contiguous property to Scheid Street <br />except one tax loth, which is located north of West 11th Avenue <br />between Bertelsen and Belt Line Road, has requested that the name <br />of Scheid Street be changed to vscar Street because of <br />difficulties encountered in the spelling and rrnounciation of <br />p <br />its name. <br />The request has been reviewed by City staff, and the Council <br />has been advised that the name does not conflict with the names <br />of any other street within the City, and since the pro ert is <br />vacant the ro osed chan e ~ P Y <br />p p g will not necessitate any modifications <br />of existing addresses. <br />No opposition to the change of name has been received, and <br />all the abutting property except one tax lot is in the ownershi <br />of the applicant. p <br />The applicant has asserted a belief that the change of name <br />will facilitate the marketing and development of the ro ert and <br />eliminate confusion p p, y <br />with respect to the proper spelling and <br />pronunciation. <br />Notice of a public hearing to be held on the 23rd da of <br />May, 1988 at the Council Chambe y <br />rs, City Hall, Eugene, Oregon, at <br />7:30 o'clock p.m. was duly published in the Register Guard a <br />news a er of ' <br />,p p general circulation within the City, at least once <br />during the week immediately preceeding the hearin to-wit on <br />Ma 17 1985, g ' <br />Y , <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Sec;ti,on .~1• The name and designation of Scheid Street <br />located North of West 11th Avenue between Bertelsen and Belt Line <br />Road within the City of Eugene is hereby chan ed to Osacar <br />Street. g <br />Sectio <br />appropriate <br />is now vscar <br />n ., 2 .
