ORDINANCE N0. 19583 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE FIRE CODE; AMENDING SECTION <br />8.200 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Subsection ~14~ of Section 5.200 of the Eugene Code, 1911, <br />is amended to provide: <br />8.200 Uniform Fire Cade - Additions, Deletions, and Amendments. <br />~14~ Section 10.301 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to add: <br />~f} Water Su 1 Re aired for Certain Public Buildin s. An <br />ublic buildin s ~ y <br />p g, a defined ~n ORS 419.010~1~{~}, erected after <br />July 1, 1967, that exceeds 5,000 square feet in usable or occu ied <br />p <br />floor area or is more than two stories in height and exceeds <br />2,000 square feet in usable or occupied ground floor area shall <br />have a readily available water supply within 500 feet of such <br />building of sufficient capacity to allow fire~fightin a aratus <br />to um 500 allo ~ 'g pp <br />p p g ns per minute for a period of ten minutes for <br />each 5,000 square feet of occupied or usable floor area or fraction <br />thereof, up to 500 gallons per minute for 30 minutes. <br />Required water supplies may be provided by underground cis- <br />terns or surface ponds, lakes or streams when approved and readil <br />accessible stand ~ es of y <br />p p not less than four inches inside diameter <br />with not less than two two-and-one-half inch outlets ore uivalent <br />q <br />are provided. <br />Section 2.
