FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />SUBJECT: SANITARY SEWER IN A PORTION OF AIRPORT ROAD, <br />BEGINNING APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET WEST OF HIGHWAY <br />99 AND PROCEEDING WEST TO THE EXISTING SANITARY <br />SEWER (CONTRACT #8$-Ol) <br />BACKGROUND <br />This project was initiated by a petition and annexations of pro <br />perties within the area of Airport Road, beginning approximately <br />500 feet west of Highway 99 and proceeding west to the existing <br />sanitary sewer. <br />Based on the 84 percent petition, and recent annexations to the <br />City of Eugene, the City Engineer initiated the project as pro- <br />vided for ~n the Eugene Code 7.160(83, on October 9, 1987. <br />Property owners were notified of the pending award hearing 10 <br />days prior to the hearing. The project was authorized for <br />construction by the City Council on January 26, 1988. The low bid <br />was submitted by Dan D. Alsup, Contractor, Inc., for an amount of <br />$22,985.oa. <br />PROJECT <br />The project includes 790 lin, ft, of 8" PVC sanitary sewer pipe, <br />two manholes, and service lines. <br />ASSESSMENTS <br />Under City of Eugene assessment policy, most of the cost is <br />assessed to the abutting property owners. The costs to be <br />assessed are shown below: <br />Lateral sewer $ 0.112/square foot <br />Sanitary Service $ 1,811.18/each <br />Trunk levy $ 0.025/front foot <br />Costs listed below are the Engineer's estimate and preliminary <br />costs quoted to property owners at the award hearing following <br />bid opening. <br />Lateral sewer $ 0.121/square foot <br />Sanitary sewer $ 2,000.12/each <br />Trunk levy $ 0.025/front foot <br />FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS - 1 <br />
